Bereavement

Helping Hands Hospice helps prepare family members and friends for the loss of a loved one. Additional support is often needed. The hospice philosophy recognizes the emotional and physical changes a family often faces. Therefore, hospice continues to serve the family for up to 13 months after the loss of their loved one, offering bereavement support. The hospice bereavement coordinator, along with other members of the hospice team, makes frequent contact with the family during the year to help them recover and rebuild. If a high-risk grief is determined, referrals to other sources are made.

Helping Hands Hospice also offers periodic grief support groups. Many family members experience periods of shock, anger, guilt, depression, and loneliness. Our Grief Support Groups offer comfort and hope for those experiencing such feelings.
