Helping Hands Hospice recognizes that
everyone has special talents and abilities. Our agency plays a major
role in providing services either to the patient, the family, or to
the hospice staff. Helping Hands Hospice trains volunteers for
various volunteer opportunities.
Patient Care Volunteers can
provide caregiver relief, offer support, visitation, therapeutic
listening, and other assistance to the patient and family. They can
also assist with transportation and shopping, and offer bereavement
follow-up. At their own choosing and in agreement with the patient
and family, the volunteer can provide other services that he/she
feels can help ease the stress or strain of caring for a seriously
ill family member.
Office Volunteers assist in the
Helping Hands Hospice Office by answering the phone, assisting with
mailings, and filing.
Special Projects Volunteers help with fund
raising activities, holiday projects, and with community awareness
efforts.
Handy Person Volunteers can help
at the Helping Hands Hospice office with maintenance tasks and
errands.
Youth Volunteers can provide
excellent companionship for patients or assist the agency with
special projects, office work, and maintenance tasks.
All the volunteers working together make life easier for those
patients whom Helping Hands Hospice serves. |
